Camera does not respond to input and/or does not turn on.
Ensure that your camera’s power cord is firmly plugged into the port on the camera and that it is plugged into a working electrical receptacle.
If after ensuring that your camera is plugged in, the LED indication light is neither visible nor blinking your Nest Cam may be off. With the Nest App make sure that your Nest Cam Camera is on under settings.
If your Nest Cam is streaming fine but the status light does not seem to be visible, your status light settings may just be set to off. You can turn the status light on or off in the Nest App under camera settings then under lights and sound choose status light .
Camera streams low quality video.
Overtime or during set up the camera lens may get debris or smudges on it thus preventing the camera from streaming at peak quality. To fix this, wipe the camera lens with a soft, clean cloth until it is clean and smudge free.
Sometimes the streaming quality is set too high for the Wi-Fi connection to handle. In order to get a smoother stream with less breaks you should lower the streaming quality by going into the Nest app that is connected to your device and select the camera that you want to change the setting for. Do this by selecting “settings” in the top right corner, then “image quality”, and finally “lower resolution”.
Sometimes your Nest Cam could be too far away from the router and doesn’t have a secure Wi-Fi connection to stream smoothly. Try relocating the camera to a closer location or in an open area free of interference.
