Introduction

The lithium battery provided by Hamilton Medical is 10.8 V, 6.7 Ah, 72 Wh, and 50 W typical. The typical lifetime of the ventilator without external power running on one battery is about 3.5 hours, and for two batteries 7.5 hours.

For more information on replacing the battery, please refer to page 202 in the operator’s manual.

What you need

Step 1

  • Connect the ventilator to an external power source. There is a two-prong cable that can be connected to a port on the backside of the ventilator.
  • It is vital that external power is present so that ventilation may continue even without a working battery in place.

Step 2

  • Open the battery door on the left side (facing the moniter) of the ventilator.

Step 3

  • Twist the metal locking clip (indicated by red arrow) counterclockwise out of the locking position.
  • Use any flathead screwdriver to accomplish this task.
  • During reassembly, turn the metal locking clip (in red) clockwise, back into the locked position, to keep the battery secure.
  • Push the latch (component in red) upwards.

Step 4

  • While pushing up the retaining clip, remove the battery (follow the blue arrow, ignore the white arrow).
  • During reassembly, push the new battery in until the latch (circled in red) locks down.

  • Turn the metal locking clip (in red) clockwise back into the locked position to keep the battery secure.
