Introduction
The fan filter prevents dust and other coarse particulates from getting blown into and damaging the internals of the ventilator. It should be checked for dust and lint every month (or more often, if necessary) and cleaned or replaced if needed.
A neglected fan filter can cause overheating if it becomes clogged to the point where an insufficient amount of air can be drawn through it by the cooling fan. Inconsistent maintenance of the fan filter can also increase the risk of patient cross-contamination.
For more information on replacing the fan filter, please refer to page 201 in the operator’s manual.

- Remove the back panel/filter cover (labeled with 3 in the diagram).

- Remove the fan filter.
- The second image shows what a fan filter should look like.
- During reassembly, install a new fan filter or wash the existing filter in a mild soap solution, rinse it, dry it, and reinstall it.
