Cannot play other users over modem

Verify you are running the exact version of Doom the other player uses. Different versions of Doom cannot compete against each other over the modem.

This game is not compatible with Windows 98. However, it can be played with some tweaking. If your animation is not running smoothly, you may need to reduce the size of the window by pressing - (hyphen) key. If it gets too small, press + (plus) key. Be aware that the bigger it gets, the more chance it may begin to not run smoothly again.
