Introduction

If the turntable does not spin when the device is on and has power, it may be because the motor is damaged or faulty and needs to be replaced.

Before beginning this repair, be sure turn the device off and unplugged from the power cord.

What you need

Step 1

              Platter               
  • Unlock the front latches and open the turntable suitcase cover.
  • Using angled tweezers or a Halberd spudger, pry the spindle shaft from the spindle.
  • Be careful, as the spindle shaft may fly off in an unexpected direction.

Step 2

  • Use both hands to gently lift the platter up and off of the turntable.

              Baseboard               
  • Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove the four screws on each corner of the baseboard.

  • Use a metal spudger to pry the baseboard off of the case.
  • Be cautious of the cords and circuit located underneath the knob and the lever. Don’t pull or yank the baseboard off.

Step 5

  • Disconnect the cords from the circuit board.
  • Take a picture beforehand so it’s easier to put them back during reassembly.
  • Remove the baseboard.

Step 6

              Motor               
  • Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the screws connecting the motor and the baseboard.
  • The motor is located underneath the platter.

Step 7

  • Flip the baseboard over.
  • Unplug the cable connecting the motor to the baseboard.
  • Remove the motor.

Remove the motor.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
