Step 1

              Prerequisite Only               
  • Remove round plastic cover near cord base by prying under the side with the metal spudger.
  • Flip the device and remove the other round plastic cover near the base of the cord.
  • Use the Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the 5.5mm PH1 screw and washer under the plastic cover and set both aside.

Step 2

  • Use the metal spudger to push the center pin through to the other side.

  • Lift back plastic cover to expose spring assembly.
  • Be careful not to damage the power cord by bending or twisting it too much while performing this step.
  • Grip the exposed end of the spring assembly and remove it.
  • The side with the two ends of the spring goes into the recessed area of the iron

Step 4

  • Use the JIS #0 screwdriver to remove the two 3.5mm “J0” screws that attach the control assembly cover to the flat iron base.

  • Lift upward on the control assembly cover to remove it from the flat iron base.
  • Remove dial and switch cover and set aside.

  • Use your JIS #0 screw driver to remove the two 6mm “J0” screws that are attached to the flat iron base and set them aside.
  • Lift the backing plate upwards to remove it from the flat iron.
  • Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove two 4mm “PH0” screws that attach the circuit assembly to the flat iron base.

Use your JIS #0 screw driver to remove the two 6mm “J0” screws that are attached to the flat iron base and set them aside.

Lift the backing plate upwards to remove it from the flat iron.

Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove two 4mm “PH0” screws that attach the circuit assembly to the flat iron base.

Step 7

              Thermal Fuse               
  • Lift heating plate and circuit assembly away from flat iron case and flip it over.

Step 8

  • Use the metal spudger to bend back the small metal cover on the back of the heating plate that shields the thermal fuse.

Step 9

  • Locate thermal fuse then remove it with the spudger and cutting tool by cutting the wire on either end.
  • After removal of the fuse, place the new HPK12 Thermal Fuse in the socket and solder the wires to their intended locations.
  • This is an extremely difficult and dangerous step and should only be done by someone comfortable soldering. If comfortable, carefully review this soldering guide to ensure proper procedures are followed to prevent injury or destruction of device.

Locate thermal fuse then remove it with the spudger and cutting tool by cutting the wire on either end.

After removal of the fuse, place the new HPK12 Thermal Fuse in the socket and solder the wires to their intended locations.

This is an extremely difficult and dangerous step and should only be done by someone comfortable soldering. If comfortable, carefully review this soldering guide to ensure proper procedures are followed to prevent injury or destruction of device.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

do you have to replace the thermal fuse if you want it to work? And where would I get a new thermal fuse?

How do I check to see if the fuse is good or not and can I use a fuse from a different straightener to replace it cause my sister is hounding me to fix it for her

Mall You TOLD US Is How to Take The Thing as part & What Part is What?

Mans what Needs to be Replaced .. besides Telling is to Go Buy another Fuse ! Or even when We Cut The Wires Exactly How we’re Surpose To I GUESS TWIST THE NEW WIRES TOGETHER?? And use Some black electric Tape ! Besides How do We Check the fuse ?? By taking it apart ? Then putting it back together & wait a week for a new fuse???

its a life & death situation !!

& this is My Big Fat Deep Curl That Broke Few Times from hanging and Falling on the Floor intill I used some gorilla glue ! I use to Keep the Box n buy from marshals so when it Stoped Working I would Clean it & Take it Back to the Store For a Even Trade ! & it always Worked too

this particular one Cost atleast $30 + and is like My BFF I’m !#^&@@ OFF

use ?? By taking it apart ? Then putting it back together & wait a week for a new fuse???

Then go look for ,? pay? And Wait For the Part that’s proable from China & will take a month??

should I go To the Salon Everyday while Waiting For the Fuse???
