              Buckle on backpack               
  • In order to determine the correct buckle size, measure the webbing. The webbing illustrated here is 15 mm, so you would need a 15 mm buckle.

Step 2

  • Remove the broken buckle from the webbing by first pulling the webbing through the locking strap and then unthreading it from the buckle.
  • Use a screwdriver or tweezers to help pull the webbing through, if necessary.

Follow the instructions in reverse order to finish your repair.

Used to use Ortlieb panniers and I have recently changes to Vaude Aqua Back Plus for some incremental additional volume and also the external pocket. I could see that it is easy to replace the male end of the buckle but I guess it could almost be the end of the bag if the female end is broken?

…or maybe you could show us as well how to fix that too, so that we could have some comfort other simply praying that this would not happen!
