The iTunes media player is a popular choice for Mac and Windows users alike. However, as most of the content on iTunes is copyrighted, Apple requires users to “authorize” any new computer before it can access an account and content. To learn how to allow up to five computers to access the same iTunes account, follow the steps below.
How to authorize on Windows or macOS
- Open Apple iTunes.
- Sign into your account with your Apple ID.
- In the menu bar at the top of the window, click Account.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, move your mouse cursor over Authorizations, and then click Authorize This Computer…
- Enter your Apple ID password and then press Enter.
If you don’t see the menu bar in Windows, press Ctrl+B.
