  • Start by loosening the string you are trying to replace by twisting the pegs.
  • The G and C tuning pegs turn up to tighten and down to loosen while the E and A tuning pegs turn down to tighten and up to loosen.

  • Next, grab the new string you are using to replace.
  • The packaging will inform you of which string replaces which note—some are different than others so pay attention!

  • Feed the string through the tie block.
  • Remember to leave slack.

  • Wrap the string over the tie block and back underneath itself.

  • Recross the string over itself again, looping it two or three more times.

  • Pinch the string and pull tightly.

  • Now, fasten the string back to the headstock. To do this, feed the string through the hole in the turning peg.
