- Scoop the baking soda (1-3 Tbsp) into your small bowl or cup.
- You may need more or less baking soda depending on the size of the your iron’s plates.

- Add the hydrogen peroxide to the bowl containing the baking soda and stir until a thick paste is formed.
- Approximately 10 drops of the hydrogen peroxide is needed per tablespoon of the baking soda.

- The consistency of the paste should be similar to a thick and grainy toothpaste.

- Smear a thick layer of the paste onto the plates of the iron.
- Let sit for 5 minutes.

- Let the paste sit on the plates for 5 minutes before proceeding.
- Wipe off the excess but not ALL of the paste with the sponge into the small bowl.

- Use your cloth or sponge to scrub the plates of the flat iron until all the buildup is removed.
- This process may take 2-5 minutes depending on the amount of buildup on your iron.
