Introduction
This guide isn’t a fix, rather it’s aimed at providing steps to ensure the health of your window air conditioner. No prior experience or special tools are necessary. Prior to using this guide, it’s important to unplug the A/C unit as water will be used in close proximity.

How to Clean the Danby Room Air Conditioner Filter
- Start by removing the air filtration panel, commonly located on the right side of the air conditioner. Using the little handle, simply pull the filter out.

- Gently tap the air filtration panel against the side of a garbage can or disposal area, to get rid of any loose dirt.
- Using water and a brush of any sort, gently brush away the stubborn dirt.

- Once you have completely removed the dirt, gently dry the filter with a paper towel or dry cloth.
- Place the filter aside and let it thoroughly dry for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

- After setting aside the filter, use the Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the two 12.7 mm front panel screws from the air conditioner.
- Gently pull the front panel off the unit.

Step 5
- Clean the front unit with water and a brush, entirely, front and back. Once you finished cleaning the unit, make sure that the wind flaps are properly inserted into their slot and not damaged or moved when cleaning them.
- Dry the front unit along with the filter anywhere from 30 mins and 1 hour each.
- As the filter and unit are drying, take a water spray and brush down any dirt that may be clogged in the front panel of the Air Conditioner, till it returns to its original color. Then let the panel dry for 15-30 minutes.
Clean the front unit with water and a brush, entirely, front and back. Once you finished cleaning the unit, make sure that the wind flaps are properly inserted into their slot and not damaged or moved when cleaning them.
Dry the front unit along with the filter anywhere from 30 mins and 1 hour each.
