What you need

- First we need to take off the face plate.

- Use a paper clip or a long pick tool to manually open DVD Drive.

- Use tweezers to take a rubber belt of 2 pulleys in between the hole in the DVD Tray.

- Use a damp paper towel to thoroughly clean the rubber belt.

- Use the tweezers to put the rubber belt back on the 2 pulleys we took them off of.
- I have found it is easier to start with the big pulley first then once around the big pulley get the belt around the small belt.

Step 6
- Close the DVD Drive and put the face plate back on.
- Plug the system in and test to see if the drive works.

My xbox 360 console looks like this but does not have a hole to manually open the tray.

It had to use different tools to open and clean the rubber pulley with 70% Alcohol. Thank you for posting it i fixed my 2009 Black xbox 360 Console.

How did you open your Xbox? Because mine also doesn’t have that hole
