To enable 32-bit file access, follow the steps below.

  • Access the Control Panel from Program Manager.
  • Double-click the 386 Enhanced icon.
  • Select Virtual Memory, then click Change.
  • If the swap file is temporary choose permanent.
  • In this screen you can enable the 32-bit disk access, if you do enable the 32-bit disk access ensure you also enable 32-bit file access.
  • Restart Windows.
