To enable or disable the AutoFormat feature and its options in Microsoft Excel, follow the steps below for the version of Excel on your computer.
Microsoft Excel 2007 and later
- Open Microsoft Excel.
- Click the File tab.
- Click the Options link in the left navigation pane.
- In the Excel Options window, click the Proofing option in the left navigation pane.
- Click the AutoCorrect Options button.
- In the AutoCorrect window, click the AutoFormat tab.
In this section, users can enable or disable each of the AutoFormat features they do not want to use.
Microsoft Excel 2003 and earlier
- Open Microsoft Excel.
- In the menu bar, click Format and select AutoFormat.
- Click the Options button.
