              How to Factory Reset an AirTag

Using one finger press, down on the back of the AirTag.

Step 2

Twist the back cover counterclockwise.
Lift and remove the cover.

Lift and remove the cover.

Step 3

Remove the battery using an index finger and thumb.
If you need to replace the battery, do so now. The battery type is a CR2032

Step 4

Place the battery back into the AirTag facing upwards.
Press down on the battery with light pressure until you hear a chime.
This ringing indicates that the battery is connected.

Step 5

When the chime finishes playing, repeat Step 4 five times by removing the battery, replacing it, and pressing down on the battery until you hear a chime.
On the fifth time you will hear a different chime as compared to the four previous times.

Once the fifth chime is heard the Air Tag has been reset and is ready to be paired.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
