- Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the mouse together.
- Once the screws are removed, pull the mouse apart by holding the top and bottom pieces.
- The mouse will be pulled into two pieces: the top (rounded part) and bottom (flat part).

- After the mouse has been pulled apart, the flex cable will be visible. This must be removed before continuing.
- To remove the flex cable, gently pull the cable clip until it becomes unlatched.

- Remove the motherboard. The motherboard is mounted on the mouse, so gently remove by simply pulling the motherboard from within the mouse.

- Once the motherboard is removed, the optical sensor will be fully exposed. This is the piece that is causing the lag in the mouse.
- The optical sensor is dirty, and needs to be gently cleaned with a Q-tip or soft cloth dipped in 90% isopropyl alcohol.
