Step 2

  • Allow the ballpoint needle to stand vertically. This will happen naturally.
  • Take your No. 18 tapestry needle and gently maneuver all of the loose strings from the snagged denim to the inside of the jeans. You will position your needle to pull the loose strings upward.
  • Make sure there are no loose strings left outside of the jeans.

  • Apply the adhesive so that the knot is stuck to the surface of the denim.
  • Allow the adhesive at least 20 minutes to dry.

Exactly how do you determine which thread to pull on the reverse side of jeans??!! It was not obvious, and this ‘how to’ didn’t explain that essential part. Struggled for 15 min, then went on to another youtube how-to that worked easily (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--tHHF_M… ). With this other tutorial, I fixed two pairs in under 10 min.

Thank you! This was helpful! I thought about fabric adhesive to secure the loose ends on the inside of the jeans, but so glad to know that you recommend it! Great photos!
