- Clean the rusted area with the cloth to remove any contaminants.

- Rub the rusted area with 80-grit sandpaper until you start seeing the bare metal.

- Add some paper around the areas you do not want paint on. Make sure you go a little past where you are going to spray paint to blend the paint into the surrounding area.
