              How to remove the  rear view mirror  from the windshield               
  • Just Grip, Wiggle, And Push Down.

  • Be careful removing this cover. It holds the cord plug in, and removing it will cause the mirror to fall.
  • Once the cover is removed and the cord is unplugged that’s it. The mirror is now free from the windshield.

To reinstall you need to remove the plastic mount cover, then just slide the assembly back into the mount, and reinstall the cover.

Our mirror (2004) has a screw from the windshield mount pointing back into the mirror (?). How do I get this screw installed again with the button glued to the glass?

Got it figured out. The part with the screw is the bracket that slides downward. I inserted a screwdriver and tapped it with a hammer to slide it out. From there I was able to screw the two back together and fit it back into the windshield.
