Step 1

              How to Repair Land Rover Range Rover that will not unlock               
  • Open the back door and appy duct tape to the edges near the locking staple
  • Hold back the rubber trim and using a hacksaw blade cut the two sides of the staple, starting with the bar nearest you first
  • It will take some time (upto 1 hour!) but you will cut through it and the door will open

Step 2

  • Remove the door card by removing the 3 screws - 1 on the door handle and two on the lower edge
  • Pull the card out to release the pop catches and then up away from the window strip
  • Disconnect all the wires and door handle - the panel will be free now.

Step 3

  • Remove the door lock mechanism by unscrewing the 3 bolts and the external door catch
  • Using this guide, open the assembly and lubricate. Ensure that your mechanism works as shown in the video.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
