Introduction

Fortunately, you can easily replace only the glass of table instead of buying a brand new coffee table, by consequently reducing costs and also waste.

This guide intends to guide you on how to safely replace the glass of a coffee tabletop.

What you need

  • Flip the coffee table base upside down on an empty area.

  • Use a cleaning spray to clean the surface of the glass table.
  • Use gloves while cleaning the table. The glass cleaner spray may contain toxic chemicals.

Step 3

  • Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove one 1/4 in.-20 x 1-1/2 in. socket cap screw from the side of the glass.
  • Repeat the process for the other 1/4 in.-20 x 1-1/2 in. socket cap screw.
  • The appearance of this screw may differ from table to table, but the procedure remains the same. Use the appropriate screwdriver to open the screws.

Repeat the process for the other 1/4 in.-20 x 1-1/2 in. socket cap screw.

  • Remove the coffee table legs piece by piece.

  • Remove the glass.
  • Remember that glass can be shattered or partially damaged. Use gloves to avoid possible cuts.

  • Replace the broken/ damaged glass with the new one.
