When users watch a YouTube video, by default, the next suggested video starts as soon as the current one finishes. To keep additional videos from playing automatically, follow the steps below.

How to turn off AutoPlay on YouTube

  • Navigate to the YouTube website and find any video to play.
  • Hover your mouse cursor over the video to display video controls along the bottom edge of the video.
  • Locate the AutoPlay toggle switch, which is in the On position.

Depending on your browser settings, the AutoPlay option may be re-enabled automatically by YouTube and require you to disable it again every few days or weeks.
