Once you’re done, you will have a bed that is at the height of your liking!

Step 1

              How to Un-loft a College Dorm Bed               
  • Ensure that there is nothing on top or around the bed.
  • Move the bed away from any walls to allow room for your entire body to be behind it.

Step 2

  • Place one foot on the base of the bed, one arm on the top of the base and one arm on the side of the bed.
  • Be sure to slightly bend your back and have a bend in your arm so you have the proper support and good posture.
  • While your foot is on the base and one on the floor, pull the bed up to unlock the hooks from the base of the bed.
  • Perform that step for all four sides of the bed.

  • Align the headboard with the bed frame.
  • Use the prongs and the holes in the frame to find a height that you would like your bed to be at.

Step 4

  • Gently align the hooks with the holes in the headboard and let the bed frame drop into the holes.
  • Once both sides of the headboard are placed at the same height, use one leg to push down on the bed frame and one hand to pull up on the headboard.
  • When you hear a click your bed frame is locked into the headboard.
  • Perform these steps for each side of the footboard at the same height as the headboard.

  • Ensure that all sides on the headboard and footboard are the same. Image 1 shows how they are uneven with the red circles.

Step 6

  • Once all sides are even and at the height that you would like, place your mattress back on and make your bed as you please!

To ensure that the bed is placed securely, pull up on bed frame. If it comes out it isn’t secure, if it stays in place you are good to go!

To reassemble your bed at a higher level, follow these instructions in the same order.
