Introduction

Before you begin, make sure the device is off and not connected to a power source. RAM does not hold any of the device’s long-term memory, meaning all your saved files will be safe after the replacement is complete.

What you need

              Battery               
  • Orient the laptop so that the underside is facing up.
  • Rotate the device so that the CD slot is in the upper left corner.

Step 2

  • Put your fingers on the battery latch.

Step 3

  • Using your fingers, push each battery latch simultaneously towards the middle.
  • This releases the battery.
  • Remove the battery from the laptop.

Step 4

              Back Panel               
  • Pull off the two rubber feet on the underside of the device.
  • Remove the twelve 9.5 mm screws from the underside of the device using a Phillips #2 screwdriver.

Step 5

  • Slide an opening pick around the edges between the back panel and the rest of the device to release the plastic retention clips that hold the panel in place.

  • Lift up on the panel to remove it completely from the device.

              RAM               
  • Place your fingers on the latches that hold the RAM in place.

  • Pull the latches apart, releasing the RAM from its holder.
  • Remove the old RAM from the laptop.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. If the device does not work, you will need to make sure that the RAM sticks have equal measurements to each other, otherwise it will not work properly
