When the power button is pressed, the laptop does not turn on.
Locate the round port for the 12vdc power input to the device. The port is located on the left side of the device below the screen. Make sure the power cable is securely connected to the device. Next follow the cable the other end and verify that the plug is securely inserted into the 120v wall outlet.
Batteries can fail for various reasons. Typically laptop batteries last for approximately 400 charges. If your battery has failed it will need to be replaced. You can replace the battery by following this repair guide HP 15-g010dx Battery Replacement
Verify that the power cord is securely plugged into the device and to the 120v outlet. If your laptop will not power up without the battery attached, the power supply has failed and will need to be replaced. Replace the power supply with the manufacturer’s specified replacement parts.
The sound is distorted/scratchy when volume is coming from the speakers
Check on a different device to make sure that it is the speakers and not just the sound itself. If this is still the issue, you may need to replace the speakers, which averages around 8$-10$ for the replacement part. Make sure to check the audio jack by replacing the headphones used. If the Headphones then sound clear it was the headphones you were previously using. If the sound continues to be distorted then, it might be the audio jack that will need to be replaced.
The laptop is not connecting to internet
Try and connect to the internet with another device, such as a friends phone or laptop. If they can connect to the internet and you cannot, then the problem is most likely with your device. If this is the case, then you can delete a WiFi Network from your device, and try and reconnect to it. For a step by step guide, click on this link: WifiHelp
If you own the modem and the WiFi router, then you can try turning them off and on.
Unplug the router and modem for about 15 seconds.
Now you can plug the power chords back in to the outlet. Make sure that all the power chords are plugged in securely.
Try waiting until all the lights come back on( If they don’t turn back on, you could be experiencing issues with your modem and router. If this is the case, contact your internet provider for assistance.

One or more keys on the keyboard has stopped working
If your keyboard is dirty, then you can use a can of air duster to clean in between the cracks and small crevices of your keyboard. The alternative would be to use a small handheld vacuum that will blow out any remaining debris that might be lodged underneath the keys. Mouse will not move when I touch the mouse pad
If the mouse pad will not pick up your finger, make sure you are not wearing any gloves and the mouse pad is clean. Once you have done those things, make sure the mouse pad is not wet. If it is still not functioning properly, you might need to replace the mouse pad sensor. This may only be sold with the top cover attached.
Make sure that the buttons will not work by pressing all the way down till you hear a click. If it still does not respond, make sure nothing else is touching the pad.
