Introduction

This guide will walk you through step by step on how to replace the DVD-ROM. Is the DVD-ROM on your computer not working and you found out it costs a lot to have them fixed? Well you are in luck. The following guide consists of the steps to remove the DVD-ROM from the computer while also showing you the prerequisite steps to be able to remove the DVD-ROM. This guide allows you to replace your DVD-ROM yourself for free rather than having to pay someone to do it.

What you need

Step 1

              Optical Drive               
  • Flip over the device so that the bottom is facing you.
  • Remove the screws using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  • Drag the optical drive horizontally until it detaches from the port on motherboard.
  • Remove the optical drive from the device.

Drag the optical drive horizontally until it detaches from the port on motherboard.

Remove the optical drive from the device.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
