- Carefully insert a Spudger into one of the corners of the tablet.
- Slide the Spudger along the edge popping the tabs out along the way.
- Be careful not to break the tabs.

Remove the battery
- Slide the Spudger under the battery to lift it off the adhesive.
- Gently pull the cable connection from the motherboard using tweezers.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

This is the OEM Replacement Battery, 740963-001, HP Spare: 739691-001, but you can find an OEM replacement the fits and works perfectly will be the Dell Venue 7 battery -17.29Wh 4550 mAh P708 DHM0J and half the price.

Santiago is wrong, you cannot use the Dell battery because the connectors are different sizes. Now I am stuck with a Dell battery that does not fit and have to order the hp battery. Also you cannot de-pin the two and re-pin, the brass fitting on the wire are bigger and will not fit in the hp connector. DON NOT TRY USING THE DELL IN PLACE OF THE HP.
