Opening the Case
- Using a p01 screwdriver bit, unscrew the 13 screws on the back of the laptop (two will be under the rubber footpads)
- Flip to laptop over and raise the screen. You will need to use a tool to “pop” the keyboard off, slowly sliding the tool along the outside

Step 2
Removing the keyboard from the Motherboard
- Carefully raise the keyboard off the body of the laptop
- Locate two ribbons connecting the keyboard to the motherboard
- Gently flip up the bars holding the ribbons in place, and remove the ribbon

Remove the Touchpad from the Keyboard
- Separate the keyboard from the body of the laptop
- Using a p001 screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the touchpad in place
- Gently lift the bar holding the ribbon in place, and remove the ribbon

Separate the Keyboard and Touchpad
- Carefully push on the ‘knob’ on the touchpad; the touchpad will fall out of the keyboard
- Carefully store the touchpad separately from the keyboard if not immediately replacing the keyboard

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Add the old touchpad to the new keyboard, and be careful reattaching all ribbons. Keyboard should ‘snap’ into place before put screws back on the body.
