Introduction
In this guide, we are going to use words and photos to show the steps of replacing the motherboard.
If your HP Chromebook14 G5 is not able to start up or work normally, you most likely have a dead motherboard, which requires replacement.
The motherboard itself is a printed circuit board that allows the CPU, RAM, and all other computer hardware components to communicate with each other.
Small parts can cause danger. If some small part is swollen, be sure to take appropriate precautions as soon as possible.
Make sure to power down your device before you begin.
What you need
Step 1

- Remove nine 2.5mm screws embedded in the back cover using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

- Open the back cover using a spudger.

- Then you can see the motherboard marked in the yellow rectangle.
- Unscrew the 4.1mm screws around the motherboard using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Step 4
- Disconnect the two Flexible Flat Cable (FFC) from the device.

- Remove the motherboard from the device.

We omitted some photos of reassembling the device. For this part, follow these instructions in reverse order.
