Computer will not respond when power button is pressed.

If you computer isn’t charging , your power adapter may be broken, or not connected properly. There is no simple way to fix a broken power adapter. If it is broken, replace the adapter.

If your computer does not hold a charge or drains too fast, the battery may be faulty. There is no safe fix for this. Purchase a new battery and recycle the old one properly.

Instead of turning on correctly, the computer displays a error or blue screen.

If the device crashes while downloading information or beeps and won’t boot, there may be a problem with the RAM, or the device doesn’t have enough RAM. To fix this problem, install RAM into your device. Refer to HP Compaq 6910p RAM Replacement for RAM replacement instructions.

Computer turns off due to overheating.

If the computer is overheating constantly, the fan may be sticky or broken. Check to see if the fan is spinning while the computer is operating. If the fan is spinning, clean it out with compressed air to remove dust and other particles. If the fan isn’t spinning, you may need to replace it.

If the fan is clean and spinning but the computer is overheating, you may need to take apart the device and replace the thermal paste. Refer to replace thermal paste between processor and heat sink for replacement instructions.

If your keys are missing, you may need to purchase a new keyboard. Some laptops may sell replacement keyboards. Refer to HP Compaq 6910p Keyboard Replacement for keyboard replacement instructions.

It is possible to replace the keys using a 3D printer if you do not want to replace your keyboard. If you cannot find a replacement keyboard or do not want to print out new keys, you can also buy an external USB keyboard.

The keys on your keyboard won’t respond.

If the keys of the computer won’t respond when touched, the keyboard may need to be cleaned. Clean keyboard with canned air and microfiber cloth. If the keys still won’t respond, try cleaning the keyboard with Q-tips and isopropyl alcohol for a deeper, more detailed cleansing.

Instead of loading the operating system, the device shows an error message.

Hard Drive errors can occur if the user turns off the laptop manually by pressing the power button instead of shutting down the computer through the operating system. To fix this issue, you need a Windows DVD for you device, such as Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10. After inserting the disk, select “repair your computer,” then click next. “You will see an option called “Startup Repair.” Select this option and let it run. If you followed these steps, your device should boot correctly. If it doesn’t, you may need to replace the hard drive. The optical drive isn’t working properly.

If DVD’s and CD’s don not work on your device, the driver may need to be updated. The driver is a program that allows the disc to communicate with the computer. An updated version of the driver can be found on the manufacturer’s website. Once you find the correct program on the website, download it to you computer.

If DVD’s and CD’s still do not work after updating the driver, the optical driver may be broken. In this situation, replace the optical diver.
