Step 1
Prepare your laptop
- Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
- Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer
- Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Step 2
Remove the bottom cover
- Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface.
- Loosen the five captive screws.
- Loosen the two inset captive screws.
- Starting under the display, insert a case removal tool and lift the bottom cover of the computer.

Step 3
Remove the battery
- Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
- Remove the five Torx T8 2.5×4.0 screws.
- Rotate the top of the battery upward, and then lift the battery out of the computer.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Remove the five Torx T8 2.5×4.0 screws.
Rotate the top of the battery upward, and then lift the battery out of the computer.
To replace the battery & reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
