The HP Envy x2 13-j002dx faces many common problems that other 2-in-1 Netbooks in its class also face. These problems include:
- Battery draining faster than normalWindows Logo not appearing on start upUSB Ports Failing (Left Side Only)Speakers Not WorkingWi-Fi Not Working
The battery loses its charge quickly after a full charging cycle.
If you find that your battery is draining faster than normal, then make sure you are closing any background apps that you don’t need open at the moment.
If you find that your battery is still draining faster than normal after a full charge, then you may need to replace the exhausted battery. A guide on how to replace the battery can be found here.
The tablet does not recognize that an external USB device is connected, or the tablet loses connection with the USB devices frequently during use.
If the USB ports on the left side of the HP Envy x2 13-j002dx are not recognizing a connection, double-check that that the USB cable is seated properly and completely. If the USB connector is not sliding all the way in, use canned air or a cotton swab to gently clean any debris from the port and try again.
If the USB ports on the left side of the HP Envy x2 13-j002dx are still not working, try connecting different USB devices. If the tablet does not recognize alternate USB devices, you may need to replace the USB port.
No sound is coming out of the speakers, even with the volume turned up all the way.
If you aren’t getting any sound from your HP Envy x2 13-j002dx, you need to check to make sure that there isn’t any software problems. Start by right clicking the sound icon next to the clock in Windows. Select “Sounds” from the pop-up menu. Navigate to the “Playback” Tab in the pop-up window. You should see a list of audio outputs. Right click the one that says, “Speakers / Headphones” and select “Test” from the drop-down menu.
If you still don’t hear anything, reboot your device and try again. If “test” still does not produce any sound with the volume turned up, you may need to replace your internal speakers.
The device will not connect wirelessly or recognize a wireless signal.
If you are unable to connect to your Wi-Fi network then, you may have a faulty Wi-Fi Driver. This is very common amongst Windows laptops and 2-in-1’s.
Right click the start menu in Windows, and select “Device Manager” from the pop-up menu. Once the Device Manager loads, drop down the “Network Adapters” tab. Locate your wireless network adapter. If it is not listed, then you’ll need to replace your Wi-Fi adapter. If your Wi-Fi adapter does show up, then right click the Wi-Fi adapter and select “Uninstall” from the drop down menu. On the top of the “Device Manger” window select the icon with a magnifying glass. This will trigger a search for all devices and should find your Wireless Adapter.
If your wireless adapter does not show back up, or you still experience problems, then you may need to replace your wireless adapter.
