Introduction
Note: For safety reasons, unplug everything and shut down your laptop before starting. If your battery looks swollen, stop immediately and consult this guide.
What you need

Battery
- Place the laptop with the bottom facing upwards.
- Remove eight black 4.7 mm screws using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
- Loosen the two captive screws on the bottom of the laptop using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

Step 2
- Insert an opening tool or a pick between the bottom panel and your computer, and then push down to pull it up.
- Repeat the step above across every edge, so the panel lifts up completely.
- I like to start from the rear, as shown in the picture, since there’s a wider gap there.
- You might have to use force to push it open, but always be gentle with your laptop.

- Remove the four 5.7 mm screws from the battery using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
- Use your hands to lift the battery out of the laptop.
- You may need to push the battery inside a bit to get it out from the clips.

Step 4
- To install the new battery, simply line up the clips and push them down.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Overall, it’s an easy process. Most of the estimated time is just trying to remove the bottom panel from the laptop.
