The battery is always low.
Try unplugging your laptop and plugging it back in. Could be a faulty outlet or its just not plugged in properly.
The HP Pavilion has a 4-cell battery which lasts roughly 4 hours and 15 minutes respectably. If worse than this it might be time to replace the battery.
Mouse is not responding to track pad movements
The track pad might be turned off in your settings.
If the track pad is not responding to your movements and it is not turned off in the settings, it needs to be replaced.
Device is getting very hot after short usage, often causing to to shut off.
If your devices cooling fan isn’t turning on, clean it with compressed air. If that does not fix the issue, you will have to replace the cooling fan.
Having your devices fan ports covered can cause overheating. If you suspect this to be your issue use a cooling pad to keep the computer fan outlet clear. An accumulation of dust might be the issue. If so it may be time to clean your device.
Often over time the thermal paste between the processor and the heat sink starts to degrade. To fix this, remove the processor heat sink and reapply thermal paste.
Keyboard or individual keys are not responding to key strokes.
If you are pressing a key and it is not budging, remove the key and clean under it.
When multiple keys or the entire keyboard is not working, the entire keyborad will need to be replaced.
Display is not turning on or nothing is showing up on the screen
Program stops responding, no response to keyboard or mouse input from windows, no thing moves on computer display.
The device has a setting to turn the screen on. Hold Fn and press F4 to make sure the screen in turned on.
If the device is not frozen and the is screen is blank or not displaying anything, your device needs a new screen.
