While running, the laptop is hot to the touch and shuts down suddenly.
Excess programs are running at once. Too many programs can overload it and cause it to heat up. When the laptop is too hot, close programs until it cools. If this is happening to your laptop, make sure you’re not running too many programs at once (this includes background programs, too).
Thermal paste is the substance applied between a laptop’s processor and heat-sink. Over time, this paste degrades and stops allowing the transfer of heat from the processor to the heat sink. This increases the laptop’s probability of overheating. If the laptop’s thermal paste has degraded, reapply thermal paste between the processor and the heat sink.
Without a working fan, the laptop will struggle to flush internal heat, which can lead to overheating. If your laptop’s fan isn’t working properly, you should try to clean it out with a can of compressed air or replace it.
Keys depressing but not responding.
You can clean in between them by using a can of compressed air.If you’ve decided that you would like to take off the keys, use a knife or similar object to gently pop them off. Once all keys are off wash the keys in a bowl with soap and let them dry. Then pop them back on when you’re sure that your machine and the keys are both fully dry.
There is no possible fix for a broken key on a keyboard. The only possible solution would be to replace the keyboard with a new one. A guide to replace your keyboard can be found (insert URL)
To fix this problem first open device manager where you will see keyboard options. Expand that and then right click on the option listed under it. Next select uninstall and restart the laptop to get the keyboard drivers reinstalled. If the issues continue to occur you will need to replace your keyboard.
Trackpad depressing but nothing registered.
When the trackpad is not working, you might have accidentally hit the lock key. To fix this, locate the lock key which is on the top bar and press it + the FN key.
Your laptop may have improper or outdated trackpad drivers. To install or update your trackpad drivers, visit the Synaptic’s website and download and install the proper Touchpad drivers.
The trackpad may be broken on a hardware level. If this is the case, you’ll need to replace it.
