Introduction

The keyboard is used to input information into your laptop. The keyboard on this laptop is a self-contained unit which can be easily removed and replaced. Through regular use, your laptop may begin missing keystrokes when you are typing, or the keyboard could become completely unresponsive.

If you have these symptoms you may want to replace your keyboard by following this guide.

What you need

  • Open the laptop.

  • Use a spudger to pry the keyboard from the laptop.
  • Make your way around the keyboard, lifting the keyboard out as you go.

Step 3

  • Reach under the keyboard and disconnect the ribbon cable from the laptop.
  • Take note of the replacement part number on the back of the keyboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
